Abstract of the course:
The course is devoted to the management and maintenance of information technology governance process in all type of organizations. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems automate this activity with an integrated software application. They are facilitates information flow between all business functions inside the organization, and manages connections to outside stakeholders.
While this may imply that ERP is closely tied to IT, in case of university environment it should be viewed in the broader context of documents circulation and process, performance management and process architecture as well as more technical subjects. Depending on the organization, enterprise architecture teams may also be responsible for some aspects of performance engineering, IT portfolio management and metadata management.
Moreover a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the design, development, operation, and maintenance of software will be analyzed. Participants will be proposed a theory of software construction that describes detailed design of computer systems by combination of coding, verification, unit testing, integration testing and program debugging. Obviously, software construction is driven by many practical considerations that will be analyzed. Special attention will be drawn to construction for verification which means building software in such a way that faults can be ferreted out readily by the software engineers writing the software.
