Brest State University named after A.S. Pushkin (BrSU) educational institution is the oldest institution of higher education in the Brest Region, Belarus. It became the University in 1995, transformed from Brest State Pedagogical Institute named after A.S Pushkin, formerly Brest Teachers’ Training Institute. The receipt of university status has brought about changes in the quality of educational, scientific and administrative work. At the present BrSU is the largest institution of higher learning, the renowned research and cultural life center in the Brest Region. Instruction at BrSU is carried out along the three main streams - scientific, humanitarian and pedagogical. 603 faculty members teach at the University’s 56 departments; there are 16 doctors of sciences, 22 full professors, 249 candidates of sciences, 195 senior lecturers among them.

 

 

Role in the project.

 

BrSU will be involved in analysis if the existing University Management systems and special needs of the university information management (WP1). BrSU will be involved in establishment of the Coordination Council and participate in the Conference dedicated to discussion and approval of the concept of university information management (WP1, WP9). BrSU will organize intensive language courses for the selected for training on university management staff and a seminar-presentation for knowledge exchange within the retrained group (WP2). BrSU will take part in development and publication of the Report on ways towards for organization of the IT-centers, development and distribution websites of the IT-centers, provision of the IT-centers with the necessary equipment and development of a distributed university management information system (WP4), participating in coordination meetings (WP9), dissemination (WP6).
